Hi all,

I posted this thread a few weeks ago. https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/what-is-wrong-with-my-bos-beak.1320949/

It is about My Buff Orpington's beak. She cracked it or something. Well, this time, she did it again! But even worse! I'm not sure if it is hurting her or not. She can still eat and drink. And I think she is still laying...not to sure on that one though. Oh, and another thing: Last time it seemed she only did the tip of her beak, but this time it seems like the hole thing! Pictures:

And another thing: It seems like only the top of her beak. Please tell me if she is in pain. I hope she is not.

Thank you for reading!

I would not super glue it, if it's the outer layer then that will fall off eventually.
It may be a little painful for her, but if she's eating/drinking o.k. I would leave her be.

Since this is the second time she's injured her beak, think about what she's doing...is there a feeder that she's getting it hung on, are you offering treats/goodies through wire fencing, is grass or foliage long and poking through fencing and she's sticking her beak through to get at it, is food/treats offered in or on something hard like cement where she is pecking at it...

Thank you for responding, @Wyorp Rock!

Yes, it is from pecking treats trough the fence. I will have to put a sign up,: "NO FEEDING TREATS TROUGH FENCE!"

Did it ever heal up from the first time?

Thanks for the response!

Yes. Well, almost. It was almost completely healed but then I saw something weird on her beak. It was almost dark, so I could not see were well...so the next day, I looked at it. I thought she was in pain. So I posted about it. It looks very bad to me. :(

Can one of you tell me how to treat it?
