I noticed she had a beak that was not aligned. It has been this way for probably a week, but I finally got up close to her today(shes very shy) and boy her beak is messed up. Is she going to be okay? She seems to eat and drink fine. Thanks

I had a BLRW for a year with a crossed beak and she did great! The only thing your going to want to do is clip that top beak off just a little ever few weeks since she is not going to be able to file it down like the others will. Otherwise it gets way to long and she won't be able to eat very well. Just take a regular cat clipper/dog clipper and just snip it off a bit before the quick. won't hurt her at all

I did mine every two weeks or so and she did great

On the flip side of the above post, I had and EE that was the same way (not quite as bad) who seemed hungry and constantly stayed at the food trying to eat. He survived to 8 weeks then died, of starvation, I suppose. I still feel bad and I wish that I had dispatched him at the beginning.

My cross beak EE is over a year old and is the heaviest of my bantams. I put her feed in a deep dish. I did feed her by hand when she was younger. Now I just make her a wholemeal rolled oats and layer pallet mix softened with hot water. I have not had to clip her beak as they free range each day and this seems to have kept her beak from getting too long. She is my best layer and lays the biggest eggs.
