My chicken's earlobe is swollen and infected. What do I do?

She barely lets anyone mess with it. One of our other hens pecked her earlobe and that's how we think it started.

Hi and Welcome!

You will need to try to clean it out. You can put a couple of drops of Peroxide in the ear to try to soften up the buildup. Then gently start trying to remove some of the gunk.

Check her over well, to make sure there aren't lice/mites in the ear canal. If she has any pesties, then treat her with some Poultry Dust or Spray.

If the ear is infected and has an odor, then you may need to seek vet care and antibiotic treatment to help clear it up.
