I have a BCM cockrel, had him since he was two weeks old, and found if I held him about 30 seconds more every time I held him, he gets more comfortable with me. I also make soft noises, like (I know it sounds crazy) singing a lullaby. I feel really silly, but it actually calms them. He is now about 3 months old, and I can be away for weeks at a time and then walk right into the coop and pick him up. Last time I came back from an overnight thing, didn't 'say goodnight' to him, he crowed when he saw me walking towards the coop. He is precious, I was worried when he showed signs of sickle feathers, I can't keep a roo. He crows, I am trying to relocate him right now.
