My chickens have some sort of lice!

I use seven dust. I hate using chemicals but sometimes I gotta. Make sure to cover your eyes and mouth with glasses and a cheap mask. Put on a big long sleeved shirt ro cover your arms. Wear gloves. Get your chicken and set him on a table or somewhere he feels secure. Hold him with one hand and sprinkle the seven dust into his feathers on his back, wings, underneath of wings. I usually put some dust in my free hand and rub it all under his belly, and get it into the tail feathers around the vent/butt area. Get his legs the sane way. Then you can do his neck front and back. Try not yo get any into their eyes it will burn them. I usually repeat the process once again in a week or so, to get any lice eggs that hatch out. Make sure to clean out your coop, and nest boxes completely to avoid reinfestations. I usually get everything off the floor and sprinkle a little 7 dust on the floor snd take a broom and sweep it around alittle, getting it into all the cracks n crevices. Then put new pine bedding down.

I have tried a lot of different things. I use permethrin. It works. If you have a TSC they carry the permethrin powder, the premixed spray bottles and the concentrate. Good luck...
