THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR HELP. I HAVE SOAKED HER FOR AN HOUR IN WARM WATER RUBBING HER ABDOMEN AND GAVE HER A LITTLE BIT OF OLIVE OIL. HOPING SHE MAKES IT TILL MORNING AND WILL TAKE HER TO A VET. JUST SO UPSET! I FEEL LIKE I AM DOING THEM RIGHT. BUT TO BE MY 3RD ONE IN 2 YEARS....SOMETHINGG IS NOT RIGHT

I'm so sorry to hear about your hen! 3 hens in 2 years, I think you're lucky. It's horrible to lose them like that but it could be worse. Sounds like you feed them well, honestly. I'm guessing it's the genetics of the chickens? They might be production type hens and those guys are prone to reproductive issues, especially later in life (i.e. 3 yrs and older).

What breed are your chickens? I hope your hen survives and is okay. You're doing all you can.

THEY ARE 3 DIFFERENT KINDS. 1 is Rhode Island Red, another Australorp , and my other one was Sussex ...all such great hens. i am wondering if they are getting to much corn scratch? but the eggs are hard.

Chickens are actually easy to give a pill to, but if you don’t know how, you can always crush it (or empty the contents of it’s a capsule) into a little cup, add a few drops of water or coilloidal Silver, and swipe it up with a tiny piece of bread. I administered meds to a chicken this way when handling her was stressing her out and I needed someone else to look after her when I went out of town.
