My chickens started laying one week ago...

And yes, they almost seemed more friendly, would squat and hold their wings out when we tried to pet them, and their comb and wattles were big and red in the weeks right before the first egg. I also still have them on starter/grower feed.

We bug them all day, but at least three times a day we check on them. I think climate and food can have an affect. I usually put food in the run and the coop. For a few days that they didn't have food in the run it seemed like production slowed. Maybe coincidence? Idk. We have nine though so I feel like I should have two feeders and waterers, as some are smaller still and growing...
yes 2 large water, one in yard and one in downstairs coop, one small water upstairs coop cause that's where they younger ones tend to stay during the day, a feeder in their, a larger one down stairs, and one feeder in the yard, plus lots of grass and some 'horse feed' i give them for scratch and to help with training. I don't know. our weather is somewhat reasonable now, soon we'll be in the 90s and up during the day. their coop is in the shade with good breeze. don't know what i'm doing wrong?

I found a egg in my coop about a week ago and I have not gotten another one since is that normal

There can be stops and starts involved when they first start laying, so it is not uncommon to find an egg, go days and then find another. Another thing to consider is that new layers will frequently lay in odd places so you may need to check through any deep bedding, behind/under things, in the yard (if you allow free ranging)/in the run if no free ranging, etc. you may have more eggs than you know.
