my chickens stopped laying

I have 16 yearling hens that was laying on avereageof a dozen eggs a day. now we are getting one to three egss a day. Any ideas?

Is it really hot where you are? Sometimes heat stress will make them stop laying for a little while.

Or could they be molting? Some of my hens are molting right now, and egg production is down. I have one hen that is visibly molting, and she looks pitiful. But others are molting too. I know by the amount of barred feathers I see in their pen. I have 5 barred hens, and I can't really tell which one(s) it is. The feathers are the only evidence. Lots of feathers!

My birds have slacked off. I have had a couple of my birds go through a major molt and some going through mini molts. Also the heat. They are in the shade with plenty of water. I put chunks of ice in their water and they have a shallow under the bed storage box with water they like to wade in to cool off.
