My chickens toe is falling off....

I use Nustock and mix a little Vaseline in with it to help it stick better, works great. Valbazen is the best wormer gets all worms.

Where do you get the Valbazen? Is it another thing you can pick up at TSC? I'm about to worm before the winter hits and I'm out of eprinex so I'd like to give it a try.

I have one very skittish chicken, and all of her toes have fallen off. I very rarely see her close enough to notice, as she never comes to me, and runs when I come. I don't know what to do for her?!?! I can't catch her to treat her!!

This is an old thread. You might be better off starting a new one.
As for your flighty hen, can you catch her when she roosts at night? Or maybe you could try netting her?

I would try netting her and then confining her to a small area (maybe a small cage) for a few days so you can treat her. Good luck! Let me know how you make out.

Thank you, Hatchaholic!

The dry, scaly skin is still falling off. Their skin underneath appears to be very sensitive as they appear to be in pain. I feel so bad for them! Can I use neosporin or anything similar to that? I've also contacted TSC for the Eprinex. They have a 250ml for $39.99 which is not bad; however, they wouldn't offer any advice on how to use it being that it's for cattle. Can you let me know how it would be used and what the proper dosage would be?

Hi Carol,
This is happening to one of my dearest chickens. She has lost toes. Today another one. So far it's just the tip. I think I used the Vaseline too late but also I ordered this from England: Net-Tex Just For Scaly Legs Poultry Parasite Kill Spray 500Ml
It's a spray. It worked but was too late to save what already went black. Today, as I said, Lucy lost another. First joint on her right leg. I don't know what to do. It's already hard for her to walk and the other hens pick on her.
