My chickens wont roost

I have 10 eight week old large breed chicks that have been in the coop for a little over a week with one other hen who is gimp in one leg so she can't roost the chicks where prior to this in a brooder for the first 7 weeks and they don't roost they just lay in the dirt I have seen them jumping on the roosts during the day standing then jumping down again how do I get them to roost? I need to know because they will soon go into the big coop with about 25 hens and 4 roosters all fully grown large breeds

Since they are not habitually roosting, you can pick them up one by one @night in the dark and put them on the roosting bars. You might be doing this multiple times until they get the hang of it.
