It was towards the end of the summer and we decided to move our pullets (my babies) into the run with our big girls. We put them in they're little run at first so the hens wouldn't pick on them. After a couple days we took them out into the rest of the yard for some reason (I don't remember why). I noticed that Rocket, the black star, had a big slimy red-ish glob hanging off her butt. We figured out it was coccidiosis and that all of them had it. We treated them right away. They were low and slow for about 1-2 weeks from the disease. That was a scary time for me, seeing my five little sweet-hearts so sick and weak. Salt and Pepper, both Dominiques, would cuddle up next to me when I visited them. When they finally recovered I was overjoyed.

Here the remaining four hanging out together!
