My chicks are NUTS!!!

Ohhh, I want some more chick peas!!! When I had them in here, I couldn't sleep because I kept getting up and looking at them. They are just too precious, I was always laughing because they do the cutest things.
Mabye if you get them a bigger brooder, I sounds like they might need more room. How old are they?

They are now 2 weeks old..The brooder I have them in is the largest wire dog kennel on the market(we have a Dane) So there is plenty of room, they just like to play a lot. flying all over the place and now the roos have started to put their necks straight up in the air and charge at each other!!! Then all the other chicks start running around like crazy...it's great!!!

Babies will do that, sleep a little, eat, poop and sleep some more, eat more and poop more. I have mine in a wire brooder in my barn. I have a wireless digital thermometer so I can monitor the temp in the brooder. I have had no problems with any of my chicks. There is a pic on my BYC Page.

Chicks are AWESOME! I guess most of them act the same. They dont seem to really "SLEEP" more like Power Naps if you ask me.

Seems like they eat, poop, and play more than sleep. Guess that also means they're good and healthy!

Go bite the bullet and buy an reptile heating coil. There is NO light and the 150 watt ones are PLENTY of heat for little peeps. You will sleep because they will sleep and still have heat.

I transformed my brooders to this method, I have one in the serama house and I get much more sleep and the house is quiet in the daytime when they take their little naps.

Remember, these guys are babies and this time in their life should be stress free and FULL of fun for them. May all baby chicks have a full tummy a warm place to call home and a clean environment to grow and play.

Gotta agree . . . we've been using a ceramic bulb (no light). The chicks are in the laundry room, where I turn on the overhead light when I get up, and turn it off around 7 p.m. They're next to the kitchen so they get some "dusk" hours while we're making dinner, then lights out and nighty-night. Other than little sleepy peeps they're pretty quiet at night.

cmom--I visited your BYC page. Your place is very neat and well-kept! And you obviously take wonderful care of your chickens, both young & old

I have 13 in a large cardboard box brooder inside. They do what I would call "Body Bowling"

One will run fast as it can into a grouped up bunch.
