My Chicks won't eat Crumbles .............

My Local feed store was out of Starter and Grower ;so I got Dumor Poultry Crumbles bad move My Chickens don't and won't eat it! it's so fine almost like sand. I then got a bag of Purina Layena Crumbles ( thinking it will be bigger) planned to mix it with the Poultry Crumbles. Same thing.. I have been giving them weeds, fruits, Vegetables , Ramen Noodles, a few boiled eggs,a very small amount ofScratch Grain. Has anyone else had this Problem ? The lady at TSC said Her Chickens wouldn't eat the Crumbles at all and They gave it away. I have even considered mixing it with Corn Meal and baking it.

Did Anyone else have this happen and what did You do?? Thanks

My chickens did that too! I think when they have a lot of yummy snacks and stuff, the crumbles don't seem as palatable to them!One thing I would advise against is mixing in the layer feed. Although it's fine since it sounds like a small amount, it would be best to wait until they're older because the excess calcium added to it for egg laying can cause issues with younger chickens kidneys since they do not require as much calcium. Anyways, if you want to, you could try another brand of feed, but it sounds like they're getting a good diet, and as long as the feed is available to them and they're healthy, they should be okay.

Stop giving them choices (I have been giving them weeds, fruits, Vegetables , Ramen Noodles, a few boiled eggs,a very small amount of Scratch Grain).

When they get hungry, they will eat the crumble.

today they only get the crumbles and some extra cold ice water
