My cockerel is slow, fumbles often, Today he fell on his back and couldn't get back up

I have a cockerel who isn't looking to good. Just a few days ago he started to act slow and noticed that he looses his balance. It sometimes seems like he wants to fall forward and then backwards. And just this afternoon, I went to make sure they had feed, and I found him on his back unable to get up

I suspect the issue is due to a vitamin deficiency, I have had 2 hens have almost the same symptoms as this cockerel. And I believe those hens had a vitamin deficiency which both died.

I am feeding them 16% protein crumble feed.

I feed them the 16% because it is what I can afford. I am not sure if he ate something moldy or toxic.
Can you post photos of him?
Is he pooping? What is that like?

He's less than a year old, but can you please tell the age in months?

The symptoms you describe could be a nutritional problem, but it could also be neurological.

I'd try Vitamin Therapy giving 400IU Vitamin E and 1/4 tablet B-Complex daily along with a treat of egg to help with the uptake of E.

Work on hydration, get some fluids into him. Sugar water or electrolytes.
Check him over for lice/mites and tell us what his crop feels like.

Make sure your feed is staying dry and doesn't have any mold in it.

Do you have another rooster or cockerel? Is he mature enough to mate yet? Could he be getting bullied away from the food and water? Try mixing some water with a small bowl of his feed and feed him alone. Scrambled egg or a little tuna or canned cat food may help. I would try to get a bag of flock raiser 20% or chick starter. It may cost $5 more for 40 pounds than your layer, but has more protein. Is his poop solid or runny? Worming him might be a good thing to rule those out. If he is not wanting to eat, treating for possible coccidiosis with Corid might be needed.

Here are some pictures. He was born around June I think, last year. I already gave him a vitamin E and a complex b tablet with some eggs. Luckily, he drank some electrolytes. For the lice and mites, one all of a sudden crawled on my arm, it was small white looking insect. His crop is a bit hard maybe because it was a few minutes after eating. Here are some pictures of his droppings: They were taken at different times.

Yes, I do have a Rooster, him and another smaller cockerel. He hasn't mated or started crowing yet. He has been pecked by others while eating, but most of my hens and roosters peck on each other while eating. He is one of the 1st one's to come and eat. He has been eating less though. Would medicated starter chick feed work? Some of his droppings are a bit runny and another is solid.

That sounds like a bird mite that is not filled with blood yet. Since you have seen the bugs you need to treat all of your chickens and the coop. Mites can really suck the life out of chickens. Dust them with permethrin dust (I get Garden and Poultry Dust at Tractor Supply) and clean out the coop and dust the coop. Repeat every 7-10 days until the mites are gone.

How many roosters and hens do you have in total?

Treat him for the bugs.
You can find Permethrin poultry dust at stores like TSC. Put the dust in a sock and use it like a powder puff, dust him all over making sure to work the dust all the way through the feathers down to the skin.
Get around the vent, under the wings, underneath him - all over.

Continue with the E and B-Complex daily, not just 1 time, give daily for at least 3 weeks (or more).

You can feed him Chick Starter or an All Flock Feed. I wouldn't feed the medicated feed.

Okay, thank you I appreciate it. for the vitamins do I give him once a day? Also, he doesn't want to eat the feed I usually give him. I have given him some pasta and tortillas. Is there some other food I could give him since he doesn't want the feed?

Is this what he's drinking? Is so, how did you make it?
