Just finished the lid opening on this quail cage that I'd been working on.
It was made almost completely from broken down pallets. The only things I purchased was the hinges, plywood, hardware cloth and components for the watering system.
The wood is bent and there's gaps but hey it can house and feed quails.
I built one of these before but have made some improvements with this one - extra crossmembers top and bottom, a lid that works better, watering system mounting, divider with entrance to a partially closed of section. I'm thinking of adding a PVC pipe in a U shape for a feeder as an upgrade to my ice cream container with feeding holes cut in the side.
These guys are going to move in around Thursday which will be 28 days since hatch.
The purpose of the two cages is to have one for the breeding stock and one for the grow outs to be slaughtered for food.
