My computer has gone crazy!

That is a fake Antivirus program. If you are uncomfortable cleaning your machine manually (pain in butt, but effective) then backing up all your essential files and reinstalling windows might be the best bet. Do not respond to requests made by program.

(or have local shop/friend clean it up and then purchase/download and use both a Firewall program and a legitimate antivirus program).

AVG might be a simple method of clean up (depending on what other sorts of irksome critters are lurking in the registry).

Download and install the FREE version of AVG:

Turn off computer. Restart computer and keep pressing the F8 button (starts windows in safe mode with minimal files).

Run a complete system scan with AVG.

See what turns up and heal/place all BS in quarrantine.

Restart and see how it goes (no guarantees that it will - but you've already backed up your files, right???).

Good Luck!

Oh, free firewall that can't be beat: http://www.personalfirewall.comodo.com/index.html

One thing never send a computer to a Circuit city. They fixed my other compurter once. they put more memory in it. Windows xp and some other stuff. They said yes to all that and i also added the cd player did not work. So what happened. about 2 hours later we came back to the store and they said "Sorry we couldn't add the stuff becasue the cd player is dead... duh i told them that. had to wait a nother 2 hours and a 1 and a half hour ride back.

I had this happen a couple of months ago, and I did a system restore. You go to all programs, choose accessories, then choose system tools, then system restore. Pick a date just before you remember this happening. Your problem is known as malware or adware. If you follow the advice of the popup it will NOT get rid of the problem, it will only make it worse. Antivirus and antiadware programs won't fix it, at least they didn't work for me. Only system restore worked to get rid of this junk.

Dang mines never been that bad....

Remember to worm your computers monthly folks

This is what is wrong with it. I spoke with a friend and he is going to help me fix it. This happened to my dads computer and it completly screwed it up so now I know to not click anything without knowing it is safe.
