Yea.....Skunks, wood chucks and racoons. Lots is my area. Of course I failed to mention the wild turkey, deer, coyoties, a then there is the occasional kid on a speeding go-cart.
After I'm finished I will install skirting with fencing 6-12 inch's under the surface.

OK.......I don't know what happened to day. After finishing all the running around, ran out of time to work on the roof.

I plan on cutting a 6" wide vent across the top of the front and covering with hardware cloth on both sides. Should that be sufficient venting or should I make it wider that 6"?

Well, according to the 1 ft² of ventilation per 10 ft² of floor space, you're 64 ft² coop would in theory do best with at least 6.4 ft² of ventilation. A 1/2 ft x 8 ft vent would be 4 ft² so take that for what it's worth... However, if your other windows will be open much of the time, you'd have more than enough.

Aren't all these chicken ratios FUN?!?!?

Thanks for the advise. I might make the opening 10" going across the top. By the way.Is that a chick sitting on your head? lol

Who was it that said you can build a coop for under $100? And you believed him? After I brought chicks home, and they started eating, I desided to make a trip to menards. Wasn't even close to $100.
