My Coop Project (Pic Heavy)

What type of siding is that? I'm currently in the process of building my coop, was wondering if it would be cheaper to use that material rather than vinyl siding..?

It is a composite type plywood that has a 20 year warranty to not rot or get insect infested. it is only 3/8 inch which scared me at first, but once I nailed it up, I was very satisfied with it's rigidity. Home Depot sells it for $25 a sheet. I needed 7 sheets for a total of $175.00, which is what 2 square of siding costs. Not to mention all of the trim, j-channel and starter strips that you need to purchase. I weighed these costs out also and this was a much more affordable option.

Thank you all for the kind words! I have had a lot of fun with this project. 2 years ago I moved to my current house and I won't get into detail for lack of time and not to waste yours, but I have been working on it for 2 solid years and sunk 10's of thousands of dollars into it. That has not been fun. However, God is good and we are through that chapter in our lives and now I am doing the FUN projects, like the coop and landscaping. Next is a photo of the windows in the front of the coop.

That is one of my Red Sex Links, they are a great breed. Smart, friendly, good layers. They do tend to wander. One of mine got attacked by a dog a couple weeks ago and was not in good shape for a few days. But, i am pleased to say, she has done a full recovery and is laying like a champ again.

I picked up 4 of those sidelight windows for $80 for all of them...
