When I told my wife that I wanted to get chickens she told me I could as long as I didn't spend any money. I decided that I would use the old garden shed for the coop and an old dog pen that wasn't being used anymore for the coop. I was fortunate enough to have everything I needed to do the remodel from the coop and run. The lumber came from excess material from my dads old barn that we took down and bulit a hay barn with. The windows came from the house after we replaced them. The blocks that we used as the foundation came from my dads old milk house. So with alot of salvaged material and a bunch of help from my son we got the shed moved and the coop and run completed.
Hope you like,
Mark
P.S. I have right at $ 100.00 in the coop and run. I have since learned that owning chickens are alot like owning a Harley Davidson. It's not the start up that gets you but all of the accessories you just got to have.
