I like the idea of a security camera
over the front door.. at least they would know who to look for after you are DEAD..

He has been told more than once ..
now tell the company that you no longer want him to stop at your house,, now call the police and tell them your story.. and tell the police that the next Schwanns ruck that touches your driveway, you are callin 911 and they had better be ready to come imediately.. the stick to your plan..

being polite in this case, be darn.. he already tore down that barrier..

The one big issue with calling 911.....you aren't going to believe this....we do NOT have 911 service in my area!!!!

Seriously! And the county is spread so far and wide that unless an officer is already in the area it can take as much as an hour to get one out here.

Oh, I believe you on the 911 service! We live so far out and had a problem with the naighbors mowing guy coming after one of my kids and it took FOREVER for the cops to get here!!

When we had issues here I went to the police station and introduced myself. I had to wait a while cause there was only one guy there

But, after I did that I also offered them free rights to park in my driveway to do their paperwork and if they needed a clean bathroom!!

They never used my bathroom, but they knew me when I had to call them.....

Oh yeah, once upon a time I had a tape recording of a large caliber gun being cocked!

I can't believe I did that, but I lived in a rough neighborhood then all alone..

OK, so you do not have 911.. Let's just throw up out hands and give up... we are only trying to hep you out here, not start little arguments. You do have speed dial on your phone?? I am guessing here ... the cops might be an hour away............then again one might just happen to be driving right by your house when you call..

make arrangements with a neighbor or two to come if you call.
I am guessing that your neighbor is not 50 miles away..

I am now finished with this thread....

If he comes back I would just tell him you really can't afford to buy and it won't be worth his time to keep coming back.

Don't call the company or the cops. This guy could be just trying to scratch out a living like everyone else. Them guys don't make hardly anything. They do it because they need a job. Don't make his job any miserable than it already is. If you don't buy he won't keep coming back. He's doing it to make money not to keep people company.
Turning him in to the company or calling police will only be harrassing him.Don't believe that they will keep it confidential.Bosses and Police both like to bully to show their authority. This would aggravate someone more especially if they were unstable.

Don't threaten to sue,a company the size of Shwanns probably has a full time lawyer with nothing to do already, you would be in no financial position to play a court game.

If you are not familar with firearms, don't go out and buy one now.I'm a gun guy but I think if you don't know how to properly use them, you shouldn't have one.Especially with small children around.

Just tell him no thanks and ask him not to come back.

Most importantly,in the future. Don't give out so much info to people.

If you tell him don't come back and he does, then call the police. They will notify Shwanns' good luck Will

YIKES......did someone pee in your cheerios this morning???? I was simply stating I don't have 911 and never once acted helpless in this thread or ready to throw my hands up. I am stating I have to be prepared to protect myself since the police are not a valid option in my area most of the time.

Thanks, willlheveland, I am very familiar with firearms as are my children.

Gun safety starts pretty much at birth in my house.

As for me harrassing him if I turn him in, he was the one who started chatting with me about his pay and how frustrated he was with customers not buying from him on his first visit. I merely told him about the hubby situation because it was realevant to my buying and not buying at that time. Every other Schwans man I have had yet was polite and courteous. Being chatty or not is their choice and I appreciate both types but not when they talk about their frustration with the inability to shoot their customers.

I'd hate to be in your position- I'm also a friendly type person and don't like to hurt peoples' feelings or cause them trouble unless I can't help it. I'm a man and I've got some weird vibes some people when I've had my kids with me. I've had people come to the door and got bad vibes from them. When we were in town- I usually kept a pistol hidden somewhere if I answered the door and didn't know somebody. I also always kept a machete and a baseball bat behind the door- My kids were trained to be on alert if I was suspicious of somebody too. I never let them open the door unless I was in the room. Maybe this guy was just a blabbermouth with a warped sense of humor. (Hopefully) . But if you get a strange vibe from him - Go on Alert! Prepare just in case he is a nut case. Wishing you the best and keep your eyes open. And also my sister has a large Sheperd. He won't let you get out of the car unless she tells him to let you get out. Nobody tresspasses on her place without her knowing about it. If you don't call her and tell her you are coming or blow the horn when you get there- You will not be getting out of that car until she gives him the All Clear! Once she tells him its okay and he lays down at her feet , then you are good to go. BUT if she doesn't and you get out-- Boy are you in trouble!! Think about getting you a Big old Dog. Good Luck and Be safe!!
