My creepy Schwans man....am I just overreacting?

well, I feel a bit better now. Headed home with me is my new Ruger 9MM. now all I need is the "real" dog. LOL Honestly though, where I live it is insane to be without a decent gun. My husband will be thrilled.

When does Schwan season start anyway? Sometime between duck season, rabbit season and baseball season I suppose...

Have to get home before I can put pics on. Too much of a pain on my phone. Schwans season is when or if one breaks in.

just want to add, if you see really strange typos (like the wrong word) I am on my phone. Me and the word predict feature don't get along well.

Scary ...

I would definitely contact Schwan's and tell them exactly what he said and did.

As for ordering... do you have a friends that order? If so, add on to their order. Then
just go pick it up from them.

I used to work in a small office and we used to order from there. That way with a few
of us.. the Schwan guy always had at least a couple things ordered and he was
very professional since it was a business. We had a refrigerator/freezer in our breakroom.

Good luck!

Nancy

You could just tell him you can no longer afford to buy from him in this tough economy. That's if he even shows up again. Just cancel. The stuff they sell isn't really that good anyway, IMHO.

Excellent. Now be sure you get training on how to use that 9MM.

I've read through the whole thread, and FWIW, I think you should

1) Call Schwans and tell them exactly what's going on.

2) Call whatever local authorities you have and make them aware of the situation.

3) Yes, I do think your husband should know, I know you don't want to worry him, but just in case, if anything should happen, your hubby will have a clue of who to look at first.

4) Above all do not answer that door, unless you have a clear view - if you don't, keep that 9MM ready to fire. You don't have to keep one in the chamber, the sound of the racking of that handgun makes an impression, too.

Here is a pic of my new "household helper".

It is used but bought from a very reputable dealer who always checks and tests their used guns thouroughly so I felt quite comfortable buying a used gun from them.

You should have heard the conversation in my car on the way home from getting the kids from school. I still had it with me since I wasn't able to go home first. My oldest son is a total stickler for rules. "So, Mom, why did you buy a new gun?" "Well, we have talked about my needing one, right?" "Yes, buy why NOW?" Ugh......don't want to say I am feeling nervous so I just say it is because their Dad is gone again and I just felt it was time. So he says "That is good. You know, it is really sad how some people try to have guns and not teach their kids about them and they end up hurt, isn't it". I agree with him and he smiles that satisfied little "Yesssss.....Dad is gone and I have to take care of Mom" grin he gets when he thinks he is talking to me like an adult.

We then went over the rules on gun safety as usual and the fact it is NEVER to be touched by anyone but me or Dad.

I will sleep better at night. Not necessarily because of the Schwans man....while he creeped me out, I highly doubt he will never bother me. However, we have a large bear population (for some reason I always worry about one trying to come through the big windows on the deck) and we have an even larger meth population. Add the new jail built not too far away......I just feel much safer.
