My Dad just reminded me.....grrrrrrrrrr

And this is why I haven't spoken to my mother in 3 years......Don't worry, we all still love and value you!

I've got almost the same problem, but its a first born thing and out of 3 kids I'm the only girl. Its my mother not dad. I feel for you. what you do is never good enough, right. but remember because of the way you were raised, you are who you are, and a stronger person for it. but it still hurts. does that sound right?

Tell him that anyone old enough to father a child should already know that you don't get to pick the sex of your children.

If he didn't get a boy, and it is the childs fault, then why is it the 5th childs fault and not the first?

GET OVER IT!

I wanted to thank each and every one of you for your kind words and support.
Nowadays I feel pretty well insulated from the hurt my family has caused me, but every once in awhile some of it slips in to hurt me deeply.
I feel much better today because of all of you.

grit... hang in there hun... sometimes its better just to turn the other cheek and realize, just as you've done - that some people will just never change; we cant pick our family, but we can pick how we respond to things.

Peace and prayers with you dear...

I hear ya on that one. My Dad had four girls, I am the oldest. He raised us all tom-boys. Which I am thankful for now. But I know deep down he wishes one of us was a boy. He finally got over it when my son was born. He finally had the boy he wanted. Granted it was only his grandson, but he is extra special to him.
I am sorry you have to live feeling this way.

Well actually you didn't ruin his only chance of having a boy. If he really wants, science has come a long way. Egg donors, surrogate mothers, plus he could always adopt.

For that matter, maybe you should tell him that you have finally decided to go ahead and have "the operation" just so that he could have the boy he always wanted. I wonder how he would take that?
