My darling Dash passed on today

No, Dash was a showgirl. Jill incubated those eggs at the same time as ones from me, but the P.O. left my box on her porch in over 100 degree heat and she only got one BR out of that hatch. So, Lily and Dash were raised together.

Thanks all,

I didnt post pics as I was just too heartsore to go thru any last night. We still need to bury her and the ground is rock hard.

I think under our weeping willow will be a good place for her.

Cyn, Lily wont even know as they got separated when I brought Dash in the house. Lily loves it outside, but Dash was just failing, afraid of the roosters, she just didnt do well. So by the time I really noticed she was failing, she was in bad bad shape, but it was due to stress with the move, being outside and the internal thing yet again with another of my girl babies.
I had to eyedropper her food and water every hour last summer along with antibiotics and really anything beyond last year was on borrowed time.
I wish that she had never had to lay an egg, poor baby, lost too many of them now to this.

She recovered fantastic, and bopped around the house being my little lovebug for this last year, but she again hadnt laid an egg in about 4 months, so I knew we were again fighting this. sigh...

I will just miss her so, she was a true house chicken in the end, and she did mess but it wasnt that bad to clean up. I have a little D'uccle, Boo that is half as small as Dash was and she is the messiest darned chicken you have ever seen in your life. Dash was pretty good, if I had papers laid down she did TRY to poo on them. She was dainty and liked being tidy. I will try to find some with Lily and her playing when little but I thinkthey may have been lost, I dearly love the "keepaway" with the qtip pic, its a classic. They played like pups when they were young.

She loved being a mom
