Chickie'sMoma :
k, so i found out my girl was egg bound. i did all the recommended stuff and it seemed to ease her before i went to bed. she perked up this morning when i checked on her and she was standing and taking food but didn't release her egg till sometime during the day. my dh didn't seem to notice it going on at all, and i found the broken blue/green egg in her crate when i got home from work. lots of poop too
are there any follow up stuff after being egg bound that i would have to do for her?
jeannieo, how long did the doc say you had to feed her like that? and did they say you needed to bring her back for a follow up at all? or is there some sort of sign they told you to look for to tell you she is back to being normal?
chickie's Moma~I don't have any experiece with this stuff. I've only had chickens a little over a year and they have been completely healthy until now! The doc didn't say how long to feed her like that but I don't want to if I'm the cause of the bleeding! I was going to call tomorrow and ask how long I should feed like that. I may have to bring her in again OMG she's squeaking and gurgling I think she is dying. she is crying. I have to go to her.
