. We'll get more work done today, possibly finish the structure and the only thing will be left would be the cosmetic, such as painting the frames and such. I can do that even after the chickens and ducks move in because the painting will be outside of the coop. What a relief, help is on the way finally at the end

Aww, sounds like you are having a really tough time... Sorry, I did laugh though about your mom asking your friend if you had told her your "secrets"... wow.... LOL But I do feel bad for you.

I just wanted to chime in and say, try not to frett too much about your 3 year old's speech delay... this happens with a lot of kids and from what I see it's usually at least partially due to the older siblings speaking for the younger ones... the younger one makes some noises and guestures and the siblings go "Oh, he wants this." ect. ect. I have seen it happen, since I have 5 younger siblings! Your little boy will grow out of it though, I promise!!

Keep your chin up and hang in there. I know it's really hard, but I agree, it would be best if your mom found somewhere else to stay.... I can only imagine how tough this must be for you.

I have a son who went through 5 years of speech. He wasn't neglected or tortured my leaving him in a duck pen, he just was slower at developing speech. He is fine now and going on 13. Next time someone criticizes you for working on your animal dwellings or tried to blame problems on it, smack them right across the face. It is therapeutic.

My DS talked a LOT later than his older sis, who still hasnt stopped...

there is nothing wrong with him, now in 6th grade, he is reading at high school level and is at the top of his class. I went back to riding my horses when he was a baby, so I guess its all my fault. Now doesnt that sound crazy? and at the risk of repeating myself...if mama aint happy, aint nobody happy. You are the bomb chicken coop builder and have a lot more stamina and patience than I do!

Almost there!

I know he will, I just hope he'll grow out of it sooner rather then later. It's been really tough mentally and physically but all shall pass soon.........I hope.
Don't worry I don't mind. Looking back at it now, I could laugh at it too

To calm your fears contact your local school district and have your child evaluated. Some children need help to get their thoughts into words. Other's just need their parents reassured that they are on track developmentally and every one wins. If you start talking to school NOW, you might get eval done by September. (maybe sooner, cuz they are less busy in summer) It's worth it for the peace of mind....and if he does need help the sooner he gets it the better the results. 6 months of speech therapy before age 5 is equal to 2 years of the same therapy after age 5.

And I hope your coop gets done before mine does...cuz I have the slowest builder in the world. (going on a month now)

Well my SI's brother showed up and we managed to put up the roof. It didn't turn out the way I would of liked, but I don't love it but nor do I hate it. When I work alone, if I did something I didn't like, I re-do it over again until I love it. But when someone is doing a favor for you, you can't tell them to re-do everything.
If all goes well, the coop will be finished tomorrow
