With my luck the way it's been going, you never know.

Or put a racing stripe on it.... With a chicken and goggles and nekerchief blowing in the breeze.....

I have been lurking on this thread - you go, girl!!! Keep going!

Hubby helped today too

, he did the roof of the coop and I did the remaining work such as, the nest box, the run's door, wiring for the side of the run. The only thing left is the side molding, painting and few detailing here and there.

Your son is a doll, I'd be playing in your coop too (I'm alot younger on the inside). What a beautiful job!! Lucky chickens. You are the little engine that could. La dee dah your husband helped. Maybe he doesn't show it but, he must be awed by what you have accomplished. We all are.

thank you hon

he wouldn't go back inside the house, he wanted me to get inside of the coop and play with him
smile.png
. ( I must admit, I'm still a kid inside too
wink.png
) Thank you, the chicken and ducks come and visit me while working on their new coop. Today not only did they all come and check us out, they went inside of the garage, just hanging out lol. I'm very proud of him too because he couldn't hold a drill before and now he can work that thing
wink.png
He got on top of the coop to put the roof on, the roof didn't cave in so must be strong for the snow
wink.png
and he didn't complain about it. As he's doing the roof, he asked me 20 times " after the big run, no more projects, right ? ". I replied " I can't hear youuuuu"

Are you putting something over your slats on the roof Like roofing paper? If not Do me a favor and test your roof to see if its water proof? Just take the hose and run some water over the top. Then check the inside to see if there is any water coming through the slats. If there is you dont need to take the slats down just put something that is water repellent over it like corrugated plastic roofing.

For the roof, we put a vinyl flooring on top then the pallets and the pallets will be sealed with a paint. As for the run that you've shown, that will also be sealed with paint and for the water not to come in, it will be sealed with a crack sealer. We were going to test the coop's roof with a garden hose before putting up the pallets but it rained that day and we had no leaks inside of the coop, thank God.

It...looks...AMAZING!!!

I remember back when this coop was a dream...now it is a solid, wood and nails coop!! You did it. Your dream is almost to fruition..may all the naysayers look upon it and remember what "can" can do

It felt like eternity trying to get where I'm at right now. I have seen sheds that are 3x heavier, taller and bigger with wheels. I used lighter materials and thought why not, but all have disagreed, calling it impossible, I think not !!!
I'm bitting my tongue anyways. I won't be happy until we survive the next winter I guess. Since my hubby was on top of the coop for a long time trying to put 1x3's on and it didn't cave in, so I'm a bit relieved

Today was such a beatufil hot day
big_smile.png
, it started out cloudy and chilly but later it I ended up getting a sun tan lol. Today, I was able to put up all the moldings. The roof's mid part wasn't all straight, fix that too and put up all the blue sticker on and ready for paint.

These pic's are from the inside
