My Diet & Exercise Thread

Funny about fast food, I used to eat it at least once a week ("protein" as an excuse). But I realized it was a ticket to a bigger butt. So now I have a burger every few months and man is it SALTY! And strange tasting!

I think when you treat your taste buds better with "real" food, they become educated enough to prefer the good stuff, not the salty useless stuff.

Well than make that your treat...gives you something to look forward to! Believe me when I say, if I can lose weight, you can! As long as you don't take away the things you do like, you will be good. It is when you restrict yourself so much or make your self eat 1 thing for ever, you will get so sick of it and give in. Where if you have the things you like, just in moderation, you will never "cheat" it will be a treat! ( I know that sounded really corny, but it's true..LOL)

After this week I'll be switching to a diet close to that Bec! This week is sort of a crash diet to get me jumpstarted. Trust me, by monday I'll be prepared to give myself a treat

I feel that way about diet coke now...I used to LOVE my diet coke every day with almost every meal. I started drinking Crystal light the Iced Tea with lemon and also some lemonade. I had some diet coke the other day and it tasted so funny to me. That's when I knew things were changing for me!

Boyd, be encouraged that after weeks of real food (as opposed to lots of processed food), you will be craving the good stuff and p- ed off at the stuff that made you heavier than you feel good at. We're behind ya Pal.

Good for you, Boyd!

Proud of you! Fast food makes me feel sick for days and I didn't think I'd ever lose my liking of it.

I found an ab workout DVD at the library today, so I borrowed it.

Thats what I did Boyd, I did NO carb for 2 weeks to kind of get jump started and then added in good carbs including fruits and veggies, whole grains and stuff like that. I have cereal almost every morning or I have eggs and a slice of wheat toast, for lunch I will have a sandwich on wheat bread (I just really love wheat bread anyway) and for dinner what ever we want - if it is pasta, I get whole grain pasta, if it includes rice I do brown rice. I never feel like I am on a diet. Weekend before last, I had a Dbl cheeseburger (so bad) from McD's and that night at a party had 2 slices of pizza and a piece of cake. At the end of the following week I had still lost 1 1/2lbs.

Anyway that you chose to do it, as long as you stick to it even if you see a stall in your weight, you will succeed! You can do this!

you know, I remember the first time I ever had pop. This thread has brought up a lot of old memories for me as I've always tried to maintain the proper strength with no regard to nutrition. It was actually when the first fast food resturant went up. No, my first pop wasn't at a mcdonalds, but that was the new one

instead my parents took us past there and said we'll try it sometime but instead we're going for a pizza. Well, of course I loved pizza, who didn't? And my parents ordered me a coke. It was all bubbling and fizzing and reminded me of dirty bathwater or something but I took a sip. Never before had I had that much sugar in my life!!!!!!!

The next drink was an all out guzzle and the carbon dioxide bubbles made me gag and dad had to run me to the bathroom and pound me on the back a few times.

Glorious pop. Small wonder I grew to love it?

I just started. Today I relized that I would love to fit in my skinny jeans again hahahaha.

I kept wondering why my stomach was always hard. lol its my muscles!!!
