This is my attempt at building a incubator. I am using a VFD enclosure that was going to be trashed. So far I have welded up the holes where the power was run to and from it. I also welded up the fan openings on the back and top that were used to cool off the internals. I cut the openings to circulate the air inside and I have test fitted the fan and screen I plan on using. I have also build a cover for the large opening that is on the tunnel that will house my heater, humidifier input, controller and fan. And suggestions are very welcome. I do plan on cleaning it up and painting it.

Following...Have ya done any more work on it? My bf just built me my first out of a Coleman cooler using it for the first time this weekend setting some Barred Rocks!! Have an old Pepsi Cooler bf said he would also turn into one for me..Could hold a lot more PLUS I’m thinking the bigger for days 1-18 and use the cooler for lockdown..try some staggered hatching later possibly...best of luck

No I have not done anything else yet. Still trying to decide on controller for temp/ humidity and figure out controls for the egg turner .

They use these to control fridges for dry curing meats. Not sure it's helpful here as they use vaporizers for humidity and they won't fit in your cabinet.

I used this one for temperature to control a window air conditioner to run a deer walk in cooler. It would control a heater with the relay. Humidity you might just have to try a water bowl and see.

This one look promising.

Small atomizer but runs on low voltage so you have to deal with the wall wart somewhere.

My progress so far. I ordered a temperature, humidity, and egg turning controller from Amazon. Looks promising. I also have three fans in it circulating the air for even temps. I have a 100w light bulb for first stage heat and one coil out of a space heater with one of the fans for secondary heat.the black on it is 1/2” foam rubber insulation that is glued to it with spray glue. I still have to clean it good and straight up all the wiring. I also have to order my egg turner trays.
