Awesome Awesome Awesome. I read your post early when Kate said " Go get the baby out now". They I had to leave for a while. Just got back and am sooooo glad you had a happy ending and a very cute baby.
I am so glad this has a happy ending. I am very proud o you for meeting the task at hand and not falling apart too. Good job! Now your little goat can call you, "Mahhh", too, since you helped birh him
I've never helped a goat to kid, but I've pulled many a calf in angus heifers who got with a huge holstien bull too early.
I'll never forget when I had to do one all by myself... I was probably 15 or 16 at the time, my dad was doing shift work, I had the heifer in the barn and she wasn't progressing. Got her some grain, put her head in the stanchion, when she went down in labor again I put the gloves on, hooked up both feet to a block and tackle and pulled with every contraction. We later purchased a calf puller that made it so much easier.
I have never been more on the edge of my seat as I was reading your post! Oh wow, I was so worried and couldn't read fast enough. SO glad it all worked out and you remained calm. Good job, they are beautiful.
