My dog has such a bad habit!!!

As much as i love my dog he has a really bad habit and i was wondering if anyone knows how to stop it. You no how dogs cock there legs up when they wee? well my dog cocks his leg up when he poops. It is really annoying because if he has a sloppy one it will hit his legs on the way down and his legs get covered so i have to bath him. Any one know how to stop him?, he has done it for a year.

what are you feeding him that cause the runny poo..?

Its not runnny, just not hard, and he dosen't do it often and only ever does when his dry food runs out and he has a day of his just meat food

plan ahead and make sure that you don't run out of his food. He is having this problem because either A) the meat food is too rich (if it's a premium brand) or B) it's 99% water. Probably a mixture of both.

You can't stop him from lifting his leg when he poops. I guess you could correct him anytime you see him lift his leg period but that would only scare and confuse him. Also, how would you teach him the "correct" position for pooping? You can't.

Thats very very...odd I have never heard of a dog do that in my life....you could perhaps attempt at pushing his but down when he does that, trying to show him that it is much more convienent to squat down to "do his buisness" but other than that

. I wonder where he picked up the habit? Most animals are born with the instinct to go the way they should

Have you taken him to the vet? I know when my dogs hips are hurting him he favors one side. He doesn't go so far as to lift the leg, but maybe there is something going on there.
