My dog killed two of my chicks - I am so sad!!!

I'm sorry to hear about the chicks.

"Our other boxer likes to "play" with the possums we have around our house. She scares them into their coma and then carries them around like a ball"
About dogs and possums....mine was barking up a storm outside. I went out to see what was going on and a possum was laying there dead.
I picked it up by the tail and put it up on a picnic table. When my husband got home I told him that Spirit killed a possum and asked him if he would get it off of the table and dispose of it. He went out and came back inside and said, "What possum?"

I never would have picked it up if I knew it was playing dead!

I'm so sorry. Yesterday, my little bitty Yorkie got rough with some of my chicks...nothing I said or did, sidetracked him...he used to be great with them...
I know it was hard.

I'm a nurse so I confidently said "Of course it's dead" as I walked back over to the living room window to look at it again. Then, THERE IT WAS, it had rose from the dead!!!!

I'm not sure exactly what came out of my mouth at that moment but I know I was screaming and freaked out!!(I'm born and bred town girl - I had never lived outside city limits!! ) Needless to say, the poor possum made his way back to the woods unharmed but I will NEVER forget my first possum experience!
