Our single chick from the first clutch was doing great. Her name was Joy. Then our husky killed her. Our second clutch gave us 3 chicks. Stormy, Peekaboo, and the third has yet to be named. Our Malamute ate Peekaboo. I’d have rehomed them both by now if it weren’t for my wife’s intercession. So this happened. I’m not done yet, but this is what I got done today. It will require more posts and I need to move a couple as well. I really didn’t want to section off my backyard. But at this point I had no choice.

They’re not demons. They’re extremely high prey driven breeds doing what comes naturally to them. They should have been separated and/or supervised from the beginning or at least after the first incident once you found out they would kill. But I’m very sorry you lost your birds and that you had to find out the hard way. :hugs and I get it, it’s hard seeing these cute, furry creatures you love kill something else you love. But you have to remember, to them, the chickens are just prey or possibly a toy. They don’t view them as beloved pets like you do. But I’m very sorry. :hugs sectioning off the yard and separating them is a good move.

Our King Pit was great with the chickens and turkeys, then we adopted a three legged bastard. The little three legged **shole has killed 3 chickens that got over the fence, not to mention chewing on EVERYTHING, including our new generator.
We have caught the King Pit , guess due to pack mentality , going after chickens that get in the yard, but only when the little bastard is out. By himself he’s good around them.
Still trying to find someone to take the three legged jerk.
