so, I've had this duck for about a week or two. I think he was hit by a car but I didn't see it happen and the only problem is his leg, so IDK. he can't move his leg at all, and he doesn't seem to be any better. he can hop around on his good leg but he can't get far. he isn't flying anywhere so I'm not sure if he can or not. he's not eating much, despite having enough food, but he's still alive so I'm sure he's fine there. his joints seem to bend okay but I'm no veterinarian so I could be wrong. he seems to have everything he needs to survive, but he's not showing any signs of getting better. what should I do here? am I doing enough? if you need more info, just ask. thanks!

Welcome to BYC.

Sorry to hear about your duck.

Could you post a few pictures of the duck, or better yet a video? To post a video you'll need to upload it a video platform like Yotube or Vimeo, and copy/paste the link here.

Could you inspect his legs and look for signs of redness, inflammation, swelling, discoloration, or anything abnormal? Have you checked under his footpads for signs of Bumblefoot?

If you pinch the bottom of his foot, does he retract or move the foot at all?

I would suggest getting a baseline weight on him, and if he lose's 5% of that over the next few days, tube feeding.

I don’t think he’s got bumblefoot. It doesn’t look abnormal or feel any different. He doesn’t react in any way when I touch his foot, I haven’t seen him move it once since he hurt it. (Sorry for the late reply:/)
