MY DUCK CAN'T STAND or WALK, HER LEGS SEEM TO CRUMPLE

I'll check on some wormer also. Thanks everyone.

The wormer I use is liquid Safeguard for goats (10% fenbendazole). When given at 0.23ml per pound for five consecutive days it will treat all but tapeworms. I mention this because most people will go to the feed store and the employees will try to sell them Wazine, but Wazine only treats large roundworms (Ascaridia).

To treat for coccidiosis I use Corid, Amprol or AmproMed at the 0.024% level for five days, then seven days at the 0.006% level. Doses are:
  • Liquid - 2 teaspoons per gallon - five days, then 1/2 teaspoon per gallon for seven days.
  • Powder - 1.5 teaspoons per gallon - five days, then 1/3 teaspoon per gallon for seven days.

Make fresh daily and must be only source of water.

@casportpony please give her info on wormers and also if she should use duramycin and wormers together and if you think this could be a toxin because we don't want her over medicating the ones that are sick.

@corrinekay , do you have a cat/dog vet? If so, call them and ask them if they will check a poop sample for parasites, coccidia, bacteria and yeast. Total cost should be less than $50.

Safeguard has no drug interactions with duramycin, so okay to use them together. FWIW, I have used Safeguard on some very sick birds and have not seen any side effects from doing so.

@corrinekay , another thing that would be helpful would be to see a picture of his poop. Seeing that might give an indication an what's ailing him.

Yes K is expert on poop honest..

When someone comes in with an older duck showing symptom of niacin def I have rec trying Brewers yeast on their feed to see if it helps, since she mentioned she bought a more nutritious feed that could be a possibility too.
I make fermented feed for my flock and add Brewers yeast to it.
