They do that regardless of gender. I had one that was a huge strutter, so I put her in the bachelor pad, thankfully I had pictures and my turkey buddies told me to move her to the convent... Yup, she was a hen.

I thought only males did that. Mine arent even a month old and their doing it. So funny to watch poults with only half their feathers doing it XD

Both females and males will display. Fairly easy way to spot a female at least some of the time is see what they do with their tail when they run. This is after they have their full tail feathers... Hens will tend to fan horizontally while males will carry their tail upright. But as in all things birds, not even 75% accurate.
