My duck/chicken life

Pics
Hey. Had a pretty eventful chicken day. I went to let my (bird aggressive) dog out today not knowing that mom already let the birds in the yard. I went about my usual routine and went outside to check on the dog. Not a second later, my step dad was yelling that luther had a chicken in his mouth. I quickly looked and pulled him away from the poor bird. Had him take the dog back inside and brought the poor soaking wet bird (step dad thought she was dead until I said she wasn't) inside to be dried off and checked out. She has two scrape wounds (one on her back and one under her wing) and one puncture wound on her back. Not to much bleeding but the puncture was taking a while to heal. We cleaned it up, wrapped it up and decided to keep her inside for a few days to recuperate. I went out afterward to make sure all the birds were locked up again so I could take my dog out. But I wasn't able to find our flock's top rooster at first. Only the evidence of him cconfronting the dog in the form of his feathers being scattered about along with the hen that the dog got (she was in athe terrible state of shock). It took close to half an hour before he finally responded to our calls and came out of hiding. We checked him over to and found nothing so he stayed outside. But both of thsm are having an eye kept on them for internal injuries to. The pic is from the poor hen he caught. And I do believe that our rooster now suffers from ptsd because now he is terrified of our dogs that are bird friendly.

Got happy chickens today. One of our ducks has a swollen eye that I noticed a few days ago. Started putting eye meds in it yesterday.
