So sorry for your loss.
What, specifically, is it you are concerned with regarding looking after the remaining two? Since the cause of death was handling, the change there needs to be re-working the interaction between child and ducklings - but if that was the only issue encountered with them thus far there should be no reason to need to change the other aspects of your caring for them as long as you have already been giving them appropriate care. Perhaps if you share a bit more about the situation we can have a better understanding? How old are the ducklings involved and what breed? Are they currently in your house in a brooder or out in a duck house or? What are you feeding them at this time?

Its the first time a child has mistreated them, they are currently inside as that's what I was recommended doing.
They are feed chick starter
I'm mainly concerned on if the death will affect the other two. I have done everything we have been told to by the pet shop

And to be completely honest we are unsure of the breed as the pet shop sold them to us as chicks.
They are yellow with webbed feet and wide beaks

I'm sorry for you unexpected loss. Your ducks will be fine as long as they have each other. You will have to secure their area, so your daughter cannot get to them unless you are present. If you can't guarantee their safety, it would be best to rehome them. You can try again when your daughter is older and able to understand bird babies are very fragile.

Welcome to BYC,

I'm sorry you lost one of your ducks. I take it your daughter is a young one that isn't old enough to handle baby animals yet. You might want to take a "look but don't touch" approach until she's older.

If you haven't already done so, read the articles in the Learning Center on duck care...that may make you feel more confident on taking care of them:
https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/other-backyard-poultry-ducks-quail-turkeys-geese-etc

There's also a duck forum where you can ask questions:
https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/42/ducks
You can also post photos of your birds and the members there will help you identify the breed and gender.

Good luck to you with your remaining ducks.
