my duck dosent look good...

Well, i gave her a warm bath, fluffed her off and immediately she seemed better, her leg is still swollen, but that didn't stop her from having fun in her tub:) another observation was her head and neck are like the size of a full grown duck, but her body is the size of a teenager.

I am going to be very brutal here but the only reason your duck has a small body is due to lack of nutriton from unproper food, if you actually want to help your duck you HAVE to listen to other posters and go purchase real grower feed you can find this at any feed store. You can not use yogurt as a feed, and you can't just use vitamins as a fix.

Please please go buy the correct feed, you can find it at tractor supply, local feed stores and in my area farm and fleet carrys it.

This will fix all your problems with this duck.

Cracked corn is a no no. You need to go to the feed store and get them some feed that has the proper nutrition.

The Limp is from Mal-Nutrition. Sorry to say, but she will starve to death if she doesn't get the nutrition that she needs.

But. the thing is. i have ALWAYS fed my duckling layer crumble with a tiny handful of finely cracked corn mixed in once they get big enough. Now i have Successfully raised around 50 ducks like this. NOT ONE turned out like this. Wouldn't ALL of my ducks turn out like this? And I do have enough common sense that anybody could not use yogurt as a main food source. that would be outrageous. i mentioned yogurt as a supplement for the active cultures it carries. I have Stopped using cracked corn since posters told me to stop. She has healthy poop. she acts like a normal duckling, shes just weird at the same time. i also give her occasional greens. What IS grower feed???

Can you get a product called Nutri Drench for poultry? it is excellent and would really help your duckling... http://barnyardsandbackyards.org/2010/09/18/review-nutri-drench/ and grower feed is the same as starter/grower, some can get it for ducklings but here we can only get it for chicks.

Thank You Miss Lydia! I think i will look into that product!I won't be able to get out of the house for a while!(snow storm

Many of us are sensitive to nutritional deficiencies in ducklings. So when we see "cracked corn," that's worrisome.

Sometimes it takes a bit of back and forth communication to get an idea of exactly what's going on.

I wrote before, but want to restate that many ducklings get along just fine, or at least look like they're just fine, with marginal nutrition.

But some ducks are more sensitive to a less-than-optimal diet. Some just don't thrive without some extra attention and supplements.

Glad you're willing to listen, and make adjustments to your feeding regimen. I'm looking forward to hearing, soon, that your little one is bouncing back.
