Hi,

I am really looking for some advice! This is my 3rd hatch and the first with any issues (I've been lucky!).

The hatch date was today and my first Aylesbury hatched yesterday and is very strong and healthy, the second hatched this morning - it is a bit weaker but still doing well.

However my third egg (the largest) has started to look very dark and slightly black inside - I haven't seen this with any of my other hatches and I am worried that she has died.

I heard cheeping from the egg yesterday but nothing today - does anyone have any advice or has this happened to anyone else and if so did the duckling hatch successfully?

Any ideas would be helpful - thank you!

Vicky

First make sure that there are no pips(holes that the chic has made). Then get a cup of warm water(about 80-90 degrees). then carefully put the egg in the cup full of water and watch. if it moves, that is the embro moving inside. good luck

ps DO NOT "HELP" THE CHICK OUT OF ITS EGG NO MATTER WHAT IT WILL DIE TRUST ME I HELPED TWO AND THEY BOTH DIED!!!!!!!!!!!!!
