My duck eggs hatching early!?!? Did I do something wrong?

I love that name lol
First time mommas aren't the best but she'll get it the second time around.

That's good to know. How long does it take before the female starts laying eggs again? Neurotica has not laid eggs since the hatch. And the drake just got her again yesterday. At least I think it was her and not the other female. I had just emptied their drinking water which is set up on an auto fill system and she jumped in and then him on top so couldn't tell which girl he got bc I have to see them side by side to tell them apart. We're not ready for more babies yet. Temps are too hot here now ranging from 102°-107° this week as example. Difficult enough to keep the adults and young ones cool never mind newbies:) also most of my egg customers want duck eggs and the demand is greater than the supply. I'm sure hoping that at least 2 out of my 3 ducklings are females so we can eventually get our egg production up and that Neurotica will start laying again soon too.

Are the babies grown up and on there own yet? WOW, it's really warm there. we are getting tons and TONS of RAIN, GRRRRR> my coops look like swamp pits. Ducks are loving it but my chickens are hating it.. Bring some of the heat my way, dry up my coops. LOL

I hear you on the swamp pits! Here too. The ducks are in heaven, the chicks are miserable. Its hot and steamy here though, when its not raining....

I would say yes. The babies are quite big now. I forget offhand when they were born. I'd have to look it up on my phone and can't do that while posting to you:) I'm not sure what grown up means. They are way too big to get under momma for comfort and protection. Today's temp-107°. It's totally miserable out there. Last night it was still 102° at 9:30 p.m. Ugh!

I just checked the calendar and my ducklings were born on the 5th, 6th and 13th of May. Does that make them grownups now? I have no clue which ones in which order either. They all 3 look the same size and overall at this stage they look alike. I've been trying to determine by the tail feathers if they are girls or boys or both:)

BOTH? hahahaha, Funny you say that because I had a boy that I posted on here and asked OK what's the sex, he didn't have a green head, he had a low tone voice and never mated with anyone. Some say boy some say girl, well i finally vent sexed him and yep it was a boy but I swear he could have passed as a girl very easily..

I guess that did sound weird and funny. I meant maybe I have both girls and boys:) I have no clue how to vent sex a duck and I don't think I could catch them if I tried:)
