My duck flees from me

I always sexed mine by the curled tail feather when I still had ducks. I think I MIGHT be seeing the beginning of a tail curl... curled tail means male. Better tail pics might help. I never did learn to sex them by voice, because the differences always seemed fairly obvious to me at a reasonably young age.

Ducks are suspicious critters, though. Hard to say what is setting him off all of a sudden!

As I read the muscovy ducks do not have the curved tail feather, so it is difficult for me to know what sex it is.
It's also weird because sometimes he runs away from me (for two days) and I don't know if maybe he's playing, but sometimes he looks for me and if
I sit on the ground near him comes to bite me or climbs on top of me.

Yep, much harder to sex a muscovy. Especially since they're not really quackers. Is it the only waterfowl you have or do you have others? My ducks are skiddish with any sudden movements, they prefer if i squat down & let them approach me. Not all of mine trust me enough to eat out of my hand but about half do. They've just got such different personalities. Funny characters.

He is that he changed overnight, I guess it will be a streak haha. Did you hear the croaking? Do you think it's a Drake or a girl?

They told me he was a muscovy, that's why I'm surprised when he runs and he's "scared", because the muscovy are supposedly "dumb", Here I leave you a video of when he ran away from me, normally he only whistles, only squawks when he runs away from me hahaha
Why exactly do you call Muscovy dumb? They are ducks, not scientists. I don't think I would classify something friendly as dumb. It's like calling a person who believes the best in people gullible.

That's the problem, muscovies are group birds and since they hiss and don't have same communication as other ducks they like being with their own kind, I think Mr. Pato needs a friend, i'm suggesting this because muscovies are not much of water ducks and like being with their own kind, he finds you scary because you probably didn't put to much time bonding and putting together a slow relationship. My drake runs from me if I don't come with food or if i'm not squatting down and talking, i'm 5'7 so I tower over my ducks. I suggest getting him/her a friend and start slow with a relationship. Muscovies are smart, they have great personalities and have different ways of catching food, they catch fish, frogs, and they could fly. They also bob their heads and hiss for 'talking' and love talking to people to, very curious ducks. @Miss Lydia

Yees, I saw that he is not a fan of water haha. He is also very talkative, I am sorry he is alone, but I don't know if I can bring him a friend. We are very close since I was a child, I don't know why he sometimes acts like this, I will try to be more careful so he doesn't feel threatened.
Sorry if my English is not very good and I make mistakes, I usually use the translator.
Sr Pato likes bite more , because except for his crushed food, the grapes, and sometimes the food he steals from my cats, he doesn't like anything else, but I'll try to throw the grapes in the water to play a little haha.
Thanks so much!
