This is her:(

I'm sorry this happened. If this were my duck, I'd put him out of his misery rather than let him suffer. Learn from the experience. Never let a dog of any age have free access to your birds. Dogs have natural instincts and have to be conditioned to birds gradually.

Again, I'm very sorry this happened. :(

I would rinse the wound with salt water and a little bit of hand sanitizer, then lather the whole thing with a butt ton of ointment or bag balm. I've never had to bandage a dog attack wound but this looks a lot worse than anything my dog had ever done when he was a puppy... he would always stop and hide when he realized that he was hurting them, but that's only because of the breed he is, if he were any other breed then I believe I would've had to bury a lot of birds..

If you're going to wash it, do not use peroxide or hand sanitizer. Trim feathers back to get a good look at the injuries first.

Instead use Chlorhexidine, diluted Betadine, saline, or plain mild soap and water. Pat dry and apply LOTS of plain triple antibiotic ointment.

I personally think this is beyond patching up.

Agreed...but can the duck survive it?
