I’m not sure, I walked in and he started to chirp a little, then his brother walked out for a little and he got up and lifted his neck a bit more

You might need to just put him down. I don't know if much else can be done. Are you giving him supplemental heat?

i agree, that looks real bad. i would only do the cull at the last resort and i feel like it is the best option. so sorry

May I chime in here? A sudsy bath would be the very first step and it should have already been done last night. Why? Because each minute you don't wash those wounds out, bacteria is growing, and bacteria can kill before wounds would.

The second reason to wash all the blood and gore away is to be able to see the wounds clearly and assess them for degree of seriousness. We could see the damage more clearly if the blood was cleaned.

Please wash away the gore even if all you do is to put the patient under a sprayer to irrigate away the mess. Then take more pics and post them.
