Hi all, this morning I found one of my ducks with both it’s legs stretched backwards. She can’t walk and flaps her wings and hops around her belly to move, but only if you approach her. Otherwise she just lays there.
The vet came around but doesn’t know what’s wrong either. There are no visible injuries, she doesn’t seem to be in pain, she had some bread soaked in milk so is still eating. The vet checked if there was an egg stuck but this didn’t seem to be the case either. Has anyone experienced this before? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Is there a possibility it’s a breeding injury?
How any ducks to drakes do you have?

I had one move around similar to that pushing with its wings to scooch/hop away in early breeding season but no use of its legs and no apparent injuries. I had too many drakes with too few ducks and she had got over breed I separated her and the rest of the ducks from the drakes after three days of all duck company she began to move normally

What ever happened with your duck? Mine seems to be having the same issues and idk what’s wrong with her.

The OP hasn't been on since they started this thread last August.

I would start your own thread. May get better responses that way.
