they will be different thats for sure she will not let the pekin mate with her, he has tried but I think he is to heavy.
So I know the babies will be cayuga,mallard,crested mixes LOL
I plan on getting the pekin a girlfriend of his own this spring if I can find a female that is already old enough to lay does not have to be the same breed I just dont want the big guy feeling left out. we are also going to build them a bigger yard and get them a bigger pool.

ok Ebony laid another egg this morning - not in the same place as yesterday so now I have an easter egg hunt every morning ?? really wish I had a bator to hatch these eggs

I got my first Cayuga egg yesterday, but it’s smaller than my golden buff’s eggs. It has a slightly green tent as well. I just know it isn’t the chickens because it the wrong shape and color. I thought ducks laid bigger eggs. Is it because it’s her first egg?

well the green egg could only have come from my cayuga - my other two ducks are maleone is a white pekin and the other is a mallard/crested mix- the egg was laid in the yard near the coop.
my hens were all in the coop so i know it was not one of them LOL and my americana's are not old enough to lay yet so it could only be from Ebony.

the black one is the one i am sure laid the egg, the white one has a girly tail so i am sure he is a male and the crested is the one that breeds with ebony so i know he is a male lol

Yep they start out little then you’ll start to see them getting bigger over the next few weeks. My runner’s first egg was smalller than a chicken egg. It was so cute - I fried it up!
