My duck taped egg is chirping!!!**PICTURES**!!

Still hasn't even pipped and I'm not sure whether I should intervene or not. It's def. in the air cell, because I can hear it pecking on the shell.

Congrats! I hatched a Tape Egg Yesterday. I didn't have any duct tape at hand, so I just used some clear cellophane tape. No probs whatsoever.

I noticed it was cracked abot two weeks ago, taped it up and viola, out popped the chick from under my broody yesterday. I actually had two taped eggs, but haven't seen any other eggshells pushed out of the nest, and she hasn't moved yet, so I am gonna wait another day before I try to check under her again. Last time I did I got the whiz pecked out of my hand!

OMG!! Where have I been?!!

BTW- your eggies went into lockdown this morning. ALL OF THE ONES YOU SHIPPED DEVELOPED AND MADE IT TO LOCKDOWN.

Cross your fingers!!!

...I hope I didnt jinx it now.

But YAY for your babies!!!! HOLY COW that is so much fun!

So, Idk how to say this. lol. But I wonder if instead of duct tape, Bondage tape would be better? Just a thought I had, my freinds use it on their gauges to make them bigger a little at a time.

I'm sure there is something better out there to use, but I didn't have anything else. The duck tape gets really sticky when it's heated up, and I honestly think it filled in the cracks, so I'll let someone else test the bondage tape, and keep using duck tape until we get a better method.

No way are they going to be jinxed now! Those babies have to hatch!

If I have a cracked egg again, I may try a breathable medical tape, or paper tape. I didn't think about it at the time, but the paper tape might be easier to get through.
