My duckling keeps laying down

Do you have a mirror you can put in her coop? She is looking for a friend and found one in her reflection. If you can give her a mirror then if you can move the car where she can’t see herself.

She free ranges all day & is in her coop at night. She sits beside the car all day now. Should I just let her? She isn’t going to the pond or forging.

Have you introduced the ducklings to her? Maybe take them outside and let her meet them. Maybe set them up inside a wire crate or temp fencing so she can start getting use to them?

If your having warm temps you can have them out side some. You want to acclimate to different temps mine were outside playing in the dogs water dish at 1 week old ( dog doesn’t use it). Your female needs the company she’ll begin to take interest soon. Especially if you move your car.

I put them outside in the morning. It has been 105-110 here during the day. Is it ok to let Daisy think she has a friend with the car? Or should I move it? I don’t want it to make her more sad or lonely.

I guess as long as she isn’t wasting away from not eating it’s okay. As long as she isn’t sitting out in those temps. In 110*in the sun next to the car.

She is under the carport. It’s so hard to watch her sit there all day. I’m so sad for her. That is why I got the new ducklings, so she would have friends. This whole thing, losing Donald, has been so hard.
