I have 2 ducks and 4 chickens, all females. They have been together since day one. They have a roomy coop in their pen and they put themselves to bed every night. Mainly the chickens go first and the ducks follow. Recently the ducks don't want this one particular chicken to come in the coop. I saw them actually"herd" her out of the coop one night. The poor chicken made a quick maneuver at an angle and made it in. But I watched and one of the ducks was still poking her with her beak. They did stop, but I wonder why this certain hen??? They don't do it every night. Any ideas or advice? Has anyone had this experience,?

Can your chickens get up on a roost away from the ducks? very important they have a roost.

Pecking order maybe but they can also be bullies if they feel they can get away with it.
I took down the wood pole, for more room in the coop, I'll put one back up and see if it makes a difference. Thanks.

Pecking order.
So they don't like this one particular chicken? I feel so sorry for her. She's a yellow/golden hen and her name is Addie. When I trimmed their wings, she was so traumatized. She made a very odd sound, haven't heard it since, and she even put her head towards the wall between 2 planters. I get a lot of entertainment by watching these birds, their personalities.
