I think if we weren't having single digits and below mine would be enjoying it more. They come outside for just a short time then right back inside. Tomorrow we will start melting that is when the fun begins.. MUDVILLE.

How is everyone and your birds? I got 2 eggs this morning, but they were frozen and cracked!![]()
How come everyone else gets rain but us?? we have been in drought since last spring and are way behind in rain fall. This snow will help but really good soaking rains is what we need. Send it on when it's through with ya'll. I really hate the mud though and we will really have a lot of it my ducks love to make mud pies in their water buckets too. So much sludge by the end of the day.I'm dreading the mud, too...even a few days of rain lately has created a mess around here, and the forecast is showing a full week's worth of raining coming. The snow is melting slowly, just enough to ice up overnight. Slippery followed by sloppy...ugh.![]()
A silly girl laid an egg in the barn because she didn't want to have to brave the snow to go back to the coop and the nesting boxes. I found the egg (almost stepped on it!) and picked it up - it was really cold. When I got back to the house, I realized it had frozen and cracked but the membrane was intact. I still ate it, but the yolk cooked kind of funky.
