My ducks first spring!

Good!

They are all doing good! Four of the ducks flew at the same time for over a minute and that was a first!

Snow is ice is all gone now so my ducks are having a blast in the mud. They even got their pool yesterday and boy were they all happy.

My one Blk Runner flew over the 4' fence from top of the hill I could not figure out how she was standing in the driveway but that could be the only explanation since they were up on the hill. Hasn't happened again thankfully. If one ever gets out there is no way they could get back inside.

She flew over the fence?

Egads, I thought they didn't fly well...they look to have pretty shrimpy wings (compared to Muscovies, at least). No chance she went under the fence? I ask because it's been muddy here and Runner mama was dabbling in the mud and managed to get her whole head under it. I shooed her away, but with enough digging, she might have gotten out.

Nope she went over the hill behind our home is higher than the fence down below it. Our female goose did it once too.

I know what you mean about rooting in the mud I had to put large rocks over some of the drill holes mine have made around their buckets and pool. They just go somewhere else and start all over again though.

Wow! It sounds like she got aloft at just the right spot to make it over. lol

The mud is just awful right now, but the ducks are overjoyed. They've drilled holes and created their own ponds everywhere. And it just keeps raining...

Really, that's cool! Oh, that wouldn't be good... So I guess you don't want your ducks flying?

Have you see our ducks flying?

I've got a dip in the pasture and they have gone to town. It's 2 ft by 2 ft and about 2 inches deep most parts. They go get all muddy and then they go and wash off in the pools, so then the pools are all muddy...

Yes she did I just about freaked out when I saw her standing in the driveway all by herself and the rest of the flock was up on the hill looking at her. Hopefully that will never happen again because if I hadn't been here she would have been there all alone and we are surrounded by woods and preds.

Mud oh my gosh you get one place covered and they start again. If we were getting rain I cannot imagine what it would be like. lol

Yikes! Maybe one adventure like that will be enough for her.

I'm just worried that I may step into an innocuous-looking mud puddle and disappear...it's deep and really pretty nasty. Makes me glad you're not dealing with rain, too.
